What Are You Thankful For?

Many years ago in internet-land, someone came up with Thankful Thursdays. So every Thursday I take time to list the things I am thankful for, usually on the CHK Message Board, sometimes here.

I am very thankful for an artistic and creative daughter who is making beautiful things to sell on Etsy. She is making the cutest little button creations.

I am also thankful for a dry house and good roof. There was a time last year when we were leaking terribly. Now we’re dry and snug.

Another thing for which I am thankful is the constant companionship of good books. I am always reading something. Right now I am finishing up some Anne Perry novels, a biography of Oscar Wilde, a book on the Psalms by John Calvin and more.

I am thankful I can ask hard and deep questions and find answers in God’s Word. And I am thankful that when I don’t get the answers I can trust the Lord with all my questions.

What are you thankful for today?

Today, I am thankful that 2 sweet grandbabies are coming to spend a week with my husband and me. Isaiah (6) and Laci (5) refer to us as Grandpa and Grandma Pancakes. They just love the variety of pancakes that Grandpa fixes for them almost every morning they are here. Just a short walk down our street is a wonderful park to enjoy playing with the kiddos, too. Summertime is one of our favorite times because all 7 grandchildren love to come at different times to stay with us. We feel so blessed!

Linda, I can relate, it really is a sweet time being a grandma. My oldest grand daughter will be three this coming week. We are having her birthday party here tomorrow and I can’t wait. <3 I hope you have a glorious weekend.

Oh, I’m thankful for little children and a VBS week. The purpose of my Savior, Himself. My loving, honest husband of nearly 30 years, the children that share our name, the power of redemption and faithfulness by a Living God. Oh, What a Savior…

I’m thankful for friends ‘online’ like you who encourage me and always keep me grounded – knowing what is important.
