*Warm throws, afghans and fuzzy blankets are great for warming up on cold evenings and for making a room look warmer. Use warm colors like red, green and brown.*Use candles.   A lighted candle makes the whole room seem warmer.

* Keep something good cooking. Baking bread or simmering soup not only makes the house smell wonderful, it just makes every room seem warmer.  If you aren’t cooking, consider simmering a pot of potpourri, it will make the air more moist and healthy, too.

I never, until this winter, thought that Florida got cold enough to justify going flannel, or getting out the warm blankets, but I think I’ve since changed my mind. All I’ve blogged about this week was how cold I’ve been. LOL!

All our kids got flannel sheets for a Christmas gift…us too! It’s winter out there, but we’re toasty in here! 🙂 After taking down all the Christmas decor, everything looks a little cold inside. Extra throw blankets hit the couch and chairs and pretty quilts adorn the beds. As of last summer, we now have hardwood floors throughout. Extra throw rugs and slippers are a big plus!
