Over the years I have written many articles and lessons about the Proverbs Woman and how we can use her as our role model. Throughout all the articles and lessons I have seen that she is our role model because in principle she is modeling the behavior of Jesus.
Here are 4 challenges I would like to offer you, to help you get motivated and give you a starting point for changing the way to manage your home.
Get Up – at a reasonable hour
Get Dressed – in modest clothes that are presentable if you had unexpected company or that would allow you to leave the house.
Get With God – have a structured time alone with God to pray and worship and devote your day.
Get Moving – stop procrastinating! Get the things done you need to get done.
Make Good Changes – choose one area of your life that you know needs change, and then through prayer and hard work, change it!
These are just the basics, there are a lot of ways you can go about accomplishing these goals and you can find quite a bit of help at Christianhomekeeper.org. If you have a chronic illness, like I do, or other challenge, I encourage you to go to the Christian Homekeeper site and read about Homekeeping for the Chronically Ill or Disabled.
You don’ t have to allow the holiday season to overwhelm you. Good planning and good habits will help be in control of the season instead of the other way around!
Yes of course, Melanie. I hope it blesses your readers!
Sylvia,
May I please share the “G” List on my blog ~ complete with links to this post?
I needed a little push right now. Thanks Sylvia! This time of year I tend to focus on just trying to get it all done, then I get discouraged and sit down because I know I can’t.I am posting your list in my bed-room so I can start off right. The Proverbs Woman is a very good model. I try to start fresh everyday. Thank-you and God bless!!
Thank you for your post, Monica. I’m so glad to hear you’ve started setting those kinds of goals for yourself! God bless you as you serve Him.
These are great points and I started them on November 1. I get up at an early hour and spend the first hour with my Lord in study and prayer. Then I get the family up and we all get off to work or school. See, I am not a SAHM. Right now I am having to do what is needed for my family. I am also getting rid of clothing that does not meet the modest criteria…But definately looking to that role model in Proverbs 31. Thanks for the encouragement!
You’re welcome, Melanie! <3
Bonnie, I love you calling it the “G” list!
It is definitely harder to follow through with anything than to plan it. I hope you have success with it, I am praying for you today.
Thanks Sylvia,
I will be typing out and hanging the “G” list on the back of my closet door, especially the “Get Moving” ! I am a good planner…sometimes not so good a follow througher ;/
This was a great post with a short, sweet lesson! Thanks, Sylvia ~♥~
