Its Thursday again… and I am counting my blessings. I love this song from the movie White Christmas…. I think it pretty much sums up my blessings over the years.

When I’m worried and I can’t sleep
I count my blessings instead of sheep and I fall asleep counting my blessings

I count my blessings instead of sheep
And I fall asleep
Counting my blessings

When my bankroll is getting small
I think of when I had none at all
And I fall asleep
Counting my blessings

I think about a nursery and I picture curly heads
And one by one I count them as they slumber in their beds

If you’re worried and you can’t sleep
Just count your blessings instead of sheep
And you’ll fall asleep
Counting your blessings

Irving Berlin from White Christmas

I’m thankful for all the days off my husband has between now and the first of the year. He has three weeks each year and saves up enough to take off 2 weeks at Christmas!

Its chilly and damp outside so I am thankful for a warm, dry home.

My mother in law bought herself a shower curtain some time ago and never used it. Then when she got ready to use it, it wasn’t quite right. I’m so thankful that she gave it to me! Its absolutely lovely and the best thing… its exactly what I would have chosen. Its white and lacy, perfect for my Robin’s Egg Blue bathroom.

I’m also thankful that all the family is here and well this Christmas. There have been powerfully hard Christmases in the past, but God got us through.  This one is not hard and I am thoroughly enjoying it, being careful to give thanks for it every time it crosses my mind, which is often.

I am very thankful to see my adult children interact with my young children. They are honest, godly, loving role-models for the younger ones. What a blessing that is.

What are you thankful for today?
