Resources For Tonight’s Radio Program

The 21st Century Homekeeper Radio program was all about mid-19th century herbal medicine and my special guest was my sweet husband of 31 years, Mark Britton!

“A weed is any plant that’s growing where you don’t want it.”

We had a great time and lots of good conversation in the chat room as well tonight. If you missed the program, you can download it and listen any time.

Lemon Balm is one of those herbs that is usually used in conjunction with other herbs. It is calming and soothing, so is used in teas in combination with herbs like passion flower to help calm someone who is anxious or upset or in more frequent doses for people who need help going to sleep at night. So its usually a component of an herbal blend. If you go to http://www.botanical .com you can find more info on the herb where it is listed simple as “balm”.

    Hi Sylvia,

This is another GREAT show. Thank you both for sharing your time and knowledge with us. Your husband mentioned lemon balm as a plant you are growing. How do you use it? Do you preserve it? I planted some to attract bees. I would like to use the plant for my benefit also.
