How are the Thanksgiving preparations going? Today was spent cleaning and in Bible study, so tomorrow I will bake cornbread and biscuits to make the dressing with, chop up lots of onions, celery and herbs and make pies.
As you can probably tell, if you are a long-time reader here at CHK, I am really in to planning and organizing so that I can make the best use of my time. However, I do not allow organizing and planning to rule me, rather I use those tools to manage my days.
Its great if you can plan your Thanksgiving preparations. But sometimes you just have to go with the flow. Like today for me; I had people over for a Bible study and that is more important to me than getting ready for a holiday. I did plan for this study and had my house clean, but I left the TG plans alone for today. There will be tomorrow to work on that.
That’s what I want to say to you today: Use the tools you have to get your work done but don’t allow those tools to use you. Be a good steward of your time and manage it as well as you can. But don’t ever put things, organization and planning before people and relationships. You’ll never be sorry you spent a little more time with someone.
God bless you as you prepare for the Feast!
Just in time! I was about to forget this~ 😀
I have two of my granddaughters here today to help me bake pies and get some other ahead-of-time cooking done. I just plugged in some Christmas music and we’re ready to roll! (I figured that Christmas music is truly Thanksgiving music, after all)
Yep – I’d go along with that!!!
I’m so thankful for your posts! I’ve learned much from you and am working to implement. I pray that you have a blessed Thanksgiving.
