Mickie The CHK Kitten

This is the story of Mickie the CHK Kitten. Mickie loves to sit on my computer while I am working at CHK.

Last week my husband and I took a little drive to a nearby town to do some errands. After we were done, we decided to get something to drink. He was pulling into a gas station to get some bottled water or pop and I asked if we could go to McDonald’s for some sweet tea. Sweet Tea is my downfall. sigh. Anyway, he drove on down, we missed our turn, but he managed to get where we were going. We got in the drive up line and ordered our tea.

This particular McDonald’s has two drive thru lines and then after you’ve ordered your line merges with the other line. I have no idea how they manage to keep that straight but they do.
The line next to us had stopped and a man was out of his car looking all around. Finally I saw what he was doing, or rather heard it.

There was a tiny little kitten running all around his car, meowing very loudly. The kitten was so small I almost didn’t see it . He was afraid he was going to hit it so had stopped and gotten out when he heard it. There were cars everywhere and the kitten was very frightened.

The kitten was hiding in the flower bed by the intercom. And it was so vocal! And skinny, and so very dirty.
So I just said, “Oh, poor thing.” And my husband, the “anti-more-animals-in-the-house-man” said,”Well, get it.” I gave him the “I don’t believe you and are you sure about this” look. He said, “Well, we can’t leave him to fend for himself.”

So I motioned for the man to bring the kitten to me. And he did.  We bought it a sausage and biscuit and brought it home.

I bathed it, ascertained that it was a male and named him Mickie because of where we found him. Mickie was covered in fleas and his bath water was black when I was finished. I cleaned and fluffed him and sprayed him with coat conditioner that I use on the other animals.

Now he’s nice and fluffy and smells so good. He is sitting in my lap as I type and thinks I am his mother. lol

So welcome Mickie the CHK Kitten and see how he grows.

He is too cute. I think we know who runs the show around your place, for now. Look at him, you can see it in his eyes and the set of his head, he rules.

Oh, so sweet! He looks so cuddly.

You KNOW that’s the CHK mascot and you have to keep us updated about him.
You must take his picture and post it for us to see. He needs a “back to school” picture, Fall picture, Thanksgiving and for heaven’s sake…a CHRISTMAS PICTURE!!! He’d be so cute with a red/green plaid bow and little gold bell around hi neck for his Christmas picture. OR…kitten in a stocking. Wouldn’t that be so cute??? 🙂

Our cat, Little Miss Tizzy Fit, or T. Tat for short….came to us one night from our garage. A litte 4 week old feral kitten from who knows where. We live in a rural area, but had not seen a cat nor any kittens. This one meowed to tiny like and then hissed and growled when we were trying to get her…hence the name. She is now 4 years old and is the best addition to our family we could ever have asked for. She and our 11 year old dog adore and pester each other constantly. God sure knows where to direct His little creatures and for that I am so thankful! Your little Mickie is a doll. Enjoy, Enjoy, Enjoy!!! 🙂

What a sweet story, Kathy. I love T. Tat’s name. We used to call one of ours, Ticky Tack. lol

Aw what a sweetheart. Poor little guy. I am glad he found you.

When I was a teenager, I worked at safeway and we had a similar situation with a loose kitten. I took him home and my step father ended up raising him. That cat brought him a lot of joy (this was in the pre-step dad days).

I mis having cats, I had cats my whole life, and gave one away when I moved overseas. Now I wish I owuld have brought her, but I know she brigs my friend great joy and they have a great life together.

My husband has become fond of my brothers cats so I am hoping he will surprise me someday

Maybe you’ll get another one before long! 🙂

    He is absolutely adorable!!

Kay, he is so little that it was easy to handle him. Plus I think he was weak with hunger. I bathed him again Monday and he was decidedly more rambunctious! I got several little claw marks on my wrist where I was holding him with one hand. Maybe if I keep on bathing him regularly he’ll give in a little over time!

    Aww.. What a cutie…

  12. jens

Oh my, I would take that little cutie in two seconds!

  13. Kay

I am amazed that you were able to bathe him. Last time I tried to bathe my white male kitty I got claw marks all over my arms.
