The hardest part of exercising for me is not the walking, the swimming the aerobics…. its how LONG it takes to get it done! ACK! While I am walking I keep on ootching up the speed so I can get done faster, hahaha! Then I get all out of breath and have to slow it down again.. While I am doing aerobics in the pool, I keep thinking, can’t we go any faster??? I want to be done with this.
I have just realized this about myself and it was really surprising. I am SO stinkin’ impatient with exercising. Its not that I hate it, but I don’t love it either. There are just so many other things I had rather be doing……..like playing Frontierville or gardening….. or sewing or cooking…….. exercising seems like such a fun sucker.
I did not know there were others like me. I would rather clean house, etc. I just keep thinking this is taking my time for doing other things.
I’ve tried to read and walk on my elliptical, but found that difficult. I agree with you 100%, but know that I need to do it for my health.
I don’t have a gym nearby, but have used the one in town a few times. The best time was when Steve and I played racquetball and got more exercise from laughing at each other than from playing the game. We messed around with some equipment and weights, but the game was the best part, by far. The steam room and sauna weren’t bad either!
Time was always an issue for me too, until I found a 20min workout video. 20min is doable for me. I can get it done and showered before the toddler wakes up from her nap:)
I feel exactly the same way, and have been going to the gym almost every day to walk on the treadmill. I find myself looking at the time and keep hoping I am done.
Glad to see I’m not alone in this! lol
Terri, its a shame we can’t find a league where you can walk “swiftly” around the bases and toss the ball gently. 😀
I think I’m allergic to exercise. Makes me short of breath, red in the face, and my heart nearly beat out of my chest. Then I can barely get out of bed the next day. I’m with you, Sylvia, exercise is a fun sucker for sure. I’m thinking I won’t really miss my toes all that much anyway.
I love to walk with my family. We go for long walks around our town, it is a great way for us to stay close and to just be together.
That’s why I enjoyed playing softball. All the running and throwing and it was a game, so it wasn’t like mindless repetition. Alas, there’s no old-timers league around here and I’d hurt myself if I tried to play with the youngsters. I do like to walk out on the back road, but it does take a lot of time.
YES! And then there’s the whole shower and stuff which multiplies the time. I find myself putting off the exercise because it will take too long which is ridiculous, but there you go. 😀
LOL Sounds so much like me… I don’t like to walk on a treadmill because I am going no where. I can’t just walk to a point and then back. I manage to get my walk in three times a week by walking to my dd’s school in the afternoon. I know my hubby is there to pick her up but in case he has to run late I am there. Also if I get there early enough I get a few minutes alone with him.
