Here is a quick decorating idea that is inexpensive and beautiful. Purchase some pretty apples from the market. Jonathan apples are very nice for this, so are Lady Apples. Wash and dry them and place in a bowl.  I used a wooden bowl.   I like to wash them so that they can be eaten right from the bowl.

Look how homey and quaint it is!
