Guest Writer Mickie On Feeling Quarrelsome …

Feeling Quarrelsome?

I’ll admit it.

Sometimes, I’m cranky.

Sometimes, when I don’t get my way, I have a fit.

Sometimes, hot weather causes me to be short-tempered.

Sometimes, I am hard to live with.

So while reading the book of Proverbs, certain verses seemed to really jump off the page at me.  They made me laugh.  They made me think.  Am I sometimes a quarrelsome wife??

Here are some of the verses I’m talking about:
A foolish son is his father’s ruin, and a quarrelsome wife is like a constant dripping.”  Proverbs 19:13
Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife.”  Proverbs 21:9
Better to live in a desert than with a quarrelsome and ill-tempered wife.”  Proverbs     21:19

So now, when I’m in a bad mood, or ready to fight about some trivial matter, I remember that my husband would be better off on the roof.

And that makes me laugh.

And improves my mood.

And makes me wonder if PMS was around during biblical times, too!

I hope you are all having a wonderful summer!  Whether you’re vacationing with family, or working away while the kids are at camp, I hope joy will be frequent visitor to your house during the sweltering months.  And may your heat exhaustion and combative children not be enough to send your husband to the Sahara!

He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord.”  Proverbs 18:22

I love this Mickie! Aren’t we all a bit hard to get along with at times? You’ve helped us to see where the source of our strength is!
